On March 16, when schools closed in my county, I weighed over 200 pounds. That is embarrassing to type. Note: If you’re one of those people who are okay with being overweight, kudos to you. I don’t like being overweight and I hate the way it makes me feel. Today, I’m happy to report that I am below 200 pounds and I owe it to Dr. Hottie, who works my sisters and me out via Zoom 6 days a week. Yes, I’m sticking to my May goals. Oh, and there is workout equipment.
Although they served as dust traps before we started practicing social distancing, I’ve had most of these items a while. Hopefully, you’ll see something you can use and pick it up. (Note: Each item listed is an affiliate link, meaning if you buy something, I’ll receive a small portion of the sale at no extra cost to you.)
Workout Equipment I Love
Neoprene Weight Set with Storage
This set is a little different than the one I use. My set has a case but storage is storage. You don’t want to stub your toe on a piece of workout equipment that is left haphazardly on the floor. And, you know Marie Kondo thinks everything should have a place. With this weight set, the problem is solved.
Resistance Loop Exercise Bands
Exercise bands can provide resistance when working out. Think thigh master but one that takes up far less space.
Resistance Bands with Handles
Like resistance loops, resistance bands can take a simple exercise to another level. Some people use resistance bands with handles instead of dumbbells because you can travel with them and they’re easy to store.
Yoga Mat
Whether you’re on carpet or hardwood, a good yoga mat puts a little cushion between you and the floor. On hardwood floors, it might keep you from sliding across the floor. On the carpet, all I have is one word: rugburn. You don’t want it. If you can, splurge on one that has a carrying strap. You can use it to hang on a hook in your workout space or closet.
Stability Ball
Although I was over 200 pounds, my core is kind of strong. I often sit on a stability ball to work at my desk or while I’m watching tv. I like using a stability ball because it’s fun. I like to bounce around.
