Interview with LaShaunda C. Hoffman

When did you realize, you had a book (or some books) inside you?
The writing bug hit me at age 9.  I was inspired to keep a diary after reading the Little House On The Prairie series.  I wrote my first masterpiece at 16.  I thought I was going to be the Black Jackie Collins.

Why is the theme of this project important?
Promotion has always been an important part of being a magazine publisher.  I loved introducing readers to new books.  I wanted to share what I’d learn over the years about book promotion.

What did you learn about yourself while writing this book?
I learned I could complete a manuscript.  I have about 7 manuscripts in the closet, some partially done.  I’m a perfectionist and for years it stopped me from completing my manuscripts.  I learned I could move past my fears (perfection) and finish the book, and then publish the book.

How do you find time to write?
As full time government employee, part time business owner, wife and mother, finding time to write can be a challenge.  I use a system of 15 minutes.  If I can sit down for 15 minutes each day or every other day, and focus on my writing, I can see progress in my writing.  Sometimes the 15 minutes will end up being two hours or more.  Sometimes it’s just 15 minutes.  I’ve learned to appreciate what time I can commit because there were many years I told myself I didn’t have time.  I would do it later.  I wasn’t living my writing dream.  Now I’m living my writing dream.

If you could work on a writing project with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be? Why?
I would love to write with my mother.  She died in 2011. We had a great writing voice together.  We wrote a historical romance together and I hope to publish it one day.

But as on my experience Capricorn men are difficult to read because they are quiet by nature and they usually are emotionless on the outside, but inside is a different story. Capricorns like erecting a wall between people because they don't like showing how they actually feel, it makes them feel vulnerable, it makes them feel exposed. Capricorns are very cautious people, they like knowing what other people are thinking and yet they won't tell anyone what they are thinking. Capricorns are very practical. Therefore, as your relationship progresses he will want to help you in practical ways and take care of you to a certain extent. As they are not very expressive there are Signs a Capricorn man likes you loves you and wants you without expressing his feelings.
