5 StarM

The 5 Star Marriage is a powerful tool for those who are married and those who hope to be married one day. It provides an opportunity for couples to take an honest look at the condition of their marriage. When traveling, most people want to stay at the best resorts or hotels but unfortunately many cannot afford the 4 or 5 star accommodations. Instead, they are forced to settle for a 2 or 3 star establishment. This book challenges couples to reach for the stars and to never settle for mediocrity.

Interview with Edward and Debbie Smith

When did you realize you had a book (or some books) inside you?

My husband has been telling me for about a year that we should write a book. I kept resisting.. One day I had a phone call with a coach and she encouraged me to write a book 5 starwith my husband.. Because we had been in the couples ministry for over 5 years, we wrote this short ebook in no time! God is good!

Why is the theme of this project important?

In our work with couples over the years we have come to realize that many marriages are struggling. Couples seem to stay together for convenience but many people are just unhappy. We wanted to provide an opportunity for couples to do a pulse check to see where their marriage is and what they can do to improve their relationship.

What did you learn about yourself while writing this book?

I learned that my husband and I can do anything if we put our minds to it; I also learned that I’m a bit of a procrastinator but my husband lovingly pushed me to completion.

How do you find time to write?

We made writing a priority and carved out time each day to write, read to each other, edit, and write some more!

If you could work on a writing project with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be? Why?
