Interview with PR Burson

When did you realize you had a book (or some books) inside you?

When I was six years old, I was not your typical little kid. I lived in my room and wrote story after story after story. I have known since I was a little girl that I had way too many stories in my head and I had a strong desire to share them.

Why is the theme of this project important?

The theme of this project was important because love is a very dangerous thing and I think that sometimes people can’t tell the difference between love and obsession. In this story, you are in the mind of the main character and in the beginning you start to think he knows his lover well but by the end you’re thinking how crazy this man really is.

What did you learn about yourself while writing this book?

I actually learned that I could write from a male’s perspective. I was seriously worried about writing from a guy’s point of view because I’m a female but I’m also a writer, so I should be able to adapt to any of my character’s perspectives be it a male, female or cat.

How do you find time to write?

Ummm…By the grace of God, I find time while two of my kids (age 7 and 5) are doing their homework. I just take breaks in between to check assignments and when my youngest (now 8 mos) takes his naps. I know when he napes I can get at least and hour to an hour and half worth of writing done, three hours on a good day. And then I also burn the midnight oil from time to time too when my muse(s) just can’t leave me alone.

If you could work on a writing project with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be? Why?

That’s easy for me….Anne Rice. I read Interview With the Vampire at an early age and I fell in love with her work. I have read ALL her books (some more than three times) and I would love to collaborate on a new vampire story bringing Lesant and my male vampire, Vincent together.
